AI in Disability Practice – NADR’s 25th Annual Conference!

Last week, attorney Laurel Marois Ackerman, Esq., had the pleasure of attending the 25th Annual Conference for the National Association of Disability Representatives in Albuquerque, New Mexico!

NADR’s 25th Annual Conference

It was an incredible experience to connect with fellow advocates, attorneys, and representatives who are all dedicated to helping individuals navigate the Social Security disability system. The conference covered a range of important topics, from updates on Social Security regulations to best practices for client advocacy. Hearing from experts and engaging in discussions about the future of disability representation reinforced just how crucial our work is in ensuring fair and just outcomes for those in need.

At the conference, attorney Laurel Marois Ackerman had the distinction of teaching a continuing legal education course to the conference attendees alongside her colleague and esteemed disability representative, J. Shay Guess. The course was on the innovative use of artificial intelligence in the Social Security disability practice.

Her session explored how AI tools can streamline case management, enhance legal research, and improve client advocacy, ultimately helping representatives navigate the complexities of the Social Security system more efficiently. With a focus on practical applications, she shared insights on ethical considerations, best practices, and emerging technologies shaping the future of disability representation. The course was awarded CLE credits in several states, including credits toward the Elder Law Board Certification offered by the Florida Bar.
